ACCO

ACCO is a modular access control system (ACS) – its architecture is based on door controllers that can work autonomously or create an entire network.

The advantages of the ACCO system range from simple single door access control systems to more extensive installations requiring centralised management.

System structure

The ACCO access control modules can be connected via the RS-485 bus to form a network of up to 255 controllers. The ACCO-USB converter is responsible for communication between them and the PC, while the ACCO SOFT LT software is used for programming and system administration. User identification devices such as proximity card readers or keypads are necessary for access control functions.

Wide compatibility

ACCO controllers support readers using the EM Marin and WIEGAND 26 transmission formats, as well as Dallas key readers. Terminals of the ACCO system can be integrated with terminals from other manufacturers, including biometric readers or non-standard proximity card formats.

Additional system devices

Inputs and outputs of the ACCO modules extend the system functionalities. For example, door opening buttons or alarm devices can be connected to the modules. The connectors also allow for interoperation with intrusion or fire alarm systems. This way, e.g., during a burglary, selected doors get locked automatically, or when fire breaks out – unlocked, allowing an efficient evacuation. The events generated by the access control modules can in turn trigger specific responses from the intrusion alarm or fire alarm system.

Easy system configuration and management

ACCO Soft Lt, an intuitive and versatile software, is used to configure the access control system and administer its resources.

  • With its help, it is possible to manage user database, including user access rights, or create entire access schemes.
  • The ACCO systems support photo identity verification, especially useful in facilities relying on physical security. Security guards can quickly identify people by their ID badges.
  • The capabilities of the ACCO Soft Lt software are complemented by facility map support - it may include the entire premise layout, various elements such as visualisations of passages, icons of cameras and controllers, with their status presented in real time.
  • In addition, using this map, user can easily change the status of each passages (for example, unblock them)

Extensive event memory

The non-volatile memory of a single access control module can store system configuration settings and register over 24,500 events. All system events are continuously logged in the ACCO Soft Lt program. The software allows users to browse their list, with option to apply various filters. This grants the system administrators a clear insight into the information required at a given moment. The event list can be exported to a file in a selected format (.CSV or .XLS) for convenient archiving.

User management

One ACCO module supports 1,024 users. Each user is assigned a username, an identifier (card or code), and access schedules and rights. Users can be combined into groups, for example, users who work on the same shift or have access to the same room at the same time. Such a solution considerably facilitates management of all people registered in the system.

Flexible user authorisation

The most commonly used means of user authorisation are proximity cards and key tags. Each of them is assigned to a unique user. Alternatively, users without a physical identifier can gain access by entering codes on terminal keypads. Wherever a higher level of security is required, both methods can be used at the same time. In the case of so-called dual authorisation, the user reads the card or key tag on a terminal and then enters the code.

Time schedules

Time frames for access to selected areas can be assigned to each user. For example, a person working between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. can enter a selected room only between 7.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Time schedules can also be used for automaticaly unblocking or blocking doors. With this function, doors can be unblocked (opened) during the designated hours, while at other times access to the given area will be possible only after user authorisation.

Access under strict control

The ACCO system has an option to limit the number of possible entries for every user. This function may be used in places where a certain number of visits is purchased – e.g., in fitness clubs or swimming pools. Activation of the anti-pass back function eliminates the possibility of multiple use of one identifier to open the door under surveillance.

24-hour presence monitoring

The presence monitoring function helps to determine when users enter, leave or are late for work. This allows to check if workers use their identifiers in accordance with company policies.

The ACCO Soft Lt software features a tool that generates presence reports. The system administrator is able to define various rules of entry/exit, using the system modules. By setting specific rules, it is possible to determine who is present in a particular room or area, and how long they have been there (data on entry/leave of workers is always collected). These are used to calculate attendance time, and generate a report, which can later be useful for calculating overtime and more.
